David Cameron has announced that Members of Parliament should be subject to the full force of the law. It is worth reflecting on why this statement is necessary. Libertas will campaign to ensure that the supremacy of the law is never left in doubt.
I will be using this blog to show why I support Libertas and its aim to bring the European Union under democratic control. The European Union can make a positive difference if the Member States use it honestly and in a targeted way. With that in mind, I will stand in the European elections to promote change inside the European Parliament and in the other institutions of the EU.
About Me
I studied as a linguist and joined the Metropolitan Police in 1978. I ended my career in 2003 as a Commander, having been responsible for all aspects of policing, particularly counter-terrorism intelligence and royalty and diplomatic protection operations. I then served a four-year contract in the European Police Office (EUROPOL) as director of information technology, information management and information security as well as having a shared responsibility for overall governance. This gave me clear understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the EU constitutional framework which I would now like to put to work in the European Parliament.
I am married with three children, and live in Rochester.
